Headwaters - There is a reason you bought a second home here. Southwest Colorado is home to the beginnings of many incredible and beautiful rivers - sources of life that start in the mountains. We want to make your vacation home feel as refreshing and life-giving as a mountain stream.
Home - We serve homes, not properties. A property is something you pay taxes on. A home is a place where you sink into a chair with loved ones close by and enjoy the view outside your window by the fireplace.
Management – We are more than just landscapers or handymen. Your home is our mission, and we are committed to maintaining it and proactively preventing potential issues so you can enjoy your space with complete peace of mind.

CLay Buchner
Clay is a devoted husband, father of 2 beautiful daughters, U.S. Army Reserve officer, pilot, and outdoor enthusiast. He joined the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG) in 2006 after completing 4 years in ROTC and 3 years in the JAG educational delay program and then served 6 years on active duty before transitioning into the U.S.Army Reserve, where he still proudly serves. Clay holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a juris doctor, and a master of arts in strategic studies, all pursued in furtherance of his military career. He first found his love for building and construction as a worker and eventually foreman for a framing crew while working his way through law school. Also while in school, Clay and his wife met and got married in 2005 and remain happily married to this day. In 2012, after separating from the active-duty Army, Clay joined the Department of Defense and then resigned that position in 2016 when he moved his family to Pagosa Springs in search of the mountain lifestyle and more quality family time. With a background in the JAG Corps and government work, Clay first served part-time as a local municipal attorney and deputy district attorney before resigning to pursue his passion for business and home maintenance. Out of that passion, Clay partnered with Jake Koehler to begin Headwaters Home Management, LLC (“Headwaters”) with the goal to make Headwaters the premier 2nd home management company in the four corners. Clay has extensive experience managing and maintaining Airbnb homes and a background in home construction with a focus in framing and carpentry. His goal is to build lasting relationships with clients through service based in integrity and trust.
